CHULO is a cultural clothing line that donates proceeds to help marginalized young people. Our hope as a brand is to make fashion that is FUN and that helps us FUNdraise for our communities. Each purchase has a direct impact: we donate our proceeds to a local community-based organization (CBO), scholarship program or charity that services the very same youth we work with, and whom we hope to inspire.
The CHULO brand has partnered with some amazing organizations like the Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance (BAAD), Uprose Brooklyn, El Maestro Boxing Club and Cultural Center and Tropical Images' GKOTS Program (Get Kids Off The Street). We have also donated to several other programs including El Museo del Barrio, the American Indian College Fund, Princess Janae Place, Trinity Place Shelter, Team Go Get It, Proyecto Matria, Puerto Rican Resiliency Fund, Finca Conciencia, the National Puerto Rican Day Parade Young Scholars Program, the Loisaida Center, the LGBT Arts Program of the Church of St. Luke in the Fields, the Caribbean Cultural Center, the Ali Forney Center, the "Bad Hair Does Not Exist/Pelo Malo No Existe" Free Book Initiative, and the GED Program at Taino Towers,

PLEASE NOTE: CHULO works mainly with young people and young adults ages 18 to 26. This is a period in time when maturation milestones including high school and college graduation, first job and first apartment are not viable or are difficult to attain for many young people in marginalized communities--especially in those of neighborhoods of color. This is a time when young adults struggle the most to make it on their own with little economic and social backing. CHULO partners with those CBOs working with this population socially, recreationally, artistically, educationally or economically, and CHULO donates to scholarship programs or charities that try to help this group succeed academically.
